Tyrrell Chevrolet
Dealership Service Review
First, I want to commend the dealership‘s professionalism and ease of scheduling service for our vehicles. However, after spending nearly $1600, I have the same issue and an unusable vehicle almost Iimmediately after picking it up from the dealership granted my service was over the holidays, but it’s worth mentioning that it was in the shop for three weeks so there was time to diagnose and find the problem. I suspected it was a coil and I told the service representative upon checking the vehicle in. Through diagnostic I was told it wasn’t the coil and we’d need to take off the valve cover and check the rocker arms, which I understood. Thankfully, no engine work was needed and we replace the (original) valve cover gasket (which isn’t a bad idea at my vehicles age) and went back to my original suspicion of a bad number seven coil pack. We replaced the coil pack and I picked up the vehicle but 2 to 3 days (less than 30 miles) later I had the exact same problem, so I am scratching my head at this point. I am reluctant to return to the same service center, because I lack confidence in their ability to diagnose the root cause of the problem. For general service and maintenance, I would be somewhat comfortable returning or recommending to a friend.
