Safford Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram FIAT of Springfield
Dealership Service Review
My car was leaking oil from the bottom. So I took it in to the local dealer - Safford. Keith was my service manager. I had dropped it off the night before the appointment on April 15th. I got a call towards the end of the day on 4/16 from Keith that they don’t have the part needed and it can’t be ordered until 5/12. I asked if I could get a loaner - he said the dealership can only provide a rental for 5 days. I asked well can I have my car back so that I can use it - he said it’s not safe to drive. I pushed back on 5 day rental bc my car was going to be gone for over 1 month - he said that’s policy. I asked if I can split up the rental and use the 5 days as I needed - he checked with manager and said yes. On the e following Tuesday I asked for a rental for Wednesday. He said he has everything arranged at enterprise. I went into enterprise only to find out that they didn’t have a Chrysler vehicle for rental. I learned from the rep at enterprise that it has to be a Chrysler vehicle for them to reimburse them. The rep told me that she expects there will be one available tomorrow morning so asked me if I could come back in the morning. I asked the rep if they can pick me up in the morning at 11 AM. The person that came to pick me up was running late never bothered to call and showed up to my doorstep at 11:30 didn’t even apologize. When I got to the rental place they gave me a minivan with smelled awful like someone I’ve been smoking all day. I returned the car that same evening after I was done with work. Throughout this process Keith was terrible at following up I would call him text him leaving messages and after numerous attempts he would return my call it was the worst service I’ve ever had. In contrast when I’ve gone to Tysons Koons the dealer where I bought my jeep from I’ve always had excellent service the only reason I didn’t go there this time was because I live in Springfield however work in Tysons so I was working from home most of the time in this post COVID-19 environment. I never got a call from Keith when he said he would give me an update after the part was ordered. I told him I called Koons to see if they had the part - they didn’t but was able to see the inventory of other dealers and told me two dealers who were in the area with several to spare. I called and informed Keith of this - he said he believes they have already tried to get this from another dealer but were not successful but will talk to his parts guy and get back to me. He calls me in 10 mins said to me “we magically had one of those parts show up and we will work on your car tomorrow and have it ready for pick up.” I don’t know why this part showed up out of no where. Also I had to push back on my service advisor and if I hadn’t I don’t know when my car would have been returned. The whole ordeal was over 1 month - I got my car back on 5/19. Stay away from Safford jeep!
