TRAPPED BY TIM DAHLE NISSAN OF MURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put down $1,000.00 and traded in my Jeep for an Armada and I loved it. I was told I would hear back from the dealership within a few days to see if they could get me approved or not. A few days went by and no reply. Of course. So two days later I went to the dealership to see what was going on. They couldn't get me approved for the Armada but they could get me approved for a new car. They said it would take a couple days to find out what the terms would be, so I took my Jeep back until then. Well when the guy brought my Jeep to the front, he also greeted me with an invoice of all the maintenance repairs they did to my Jeep. RED FLAG!!! They claim that they had to replace the brakes (I had the brakes replaced less than 3 months before the trade in) and a few other things. When I complained they actually told me that I couldn't do anything about it because I had signed a Power Of Attorney form when we went over the financing papers and that stopped me from disputing anything. I found out that I had two choices. 1- I could walk away with my Jeep and have to pay over $800.00 in repairs they did to my Jeep, and lose my $1,000.00 down payment. 2- I could let them keep the Jeep and still use that $1,000.00 towards a new car. The problem is that I would be financing about $30,000.00. So, do I lose $1,800.00 and have my Jeep, or put myself $30,000.00 in debt? I walked out with my Jeep and came straight home to write this review. THESE GUYS ARE [violative content deleted]

While it was certainly was poor customer relations to do what they did, and if that $800 was parts-only, I wouldn't hold anything against the dealership. It was certainly in the dealership's best interest to prep the trade-in for sale ASAP. Any space taken up by a car not ready for sale is wasted space. Perhaps they did brakes because they can put $500 worth of parts and $200+ chargeable labor in about an hour, just to hook the potential buyer. Some of the most basic car-buying advice (and common sense) was ignored to have this situation happen: Didn't have financing pre-approved before walking into the dealership. Traded in the car before a final approval from financing. Signed a power of attorney(!) without understanding the implications. Sale and trade-in go on the same contract. No exceptions. None of this would have happened if the reviewer had obeyed the prime rule of buying a car - be willing to walk away without that car. If they had waited for real approval instead of wanting to drive that shiny new car home a few days earlier, no problem. Considering that a 1-star worthy dealership would have just told them "sorry" and they had "sold" the car (in reality just moving it to another dealership) that night and left them without wheels, I'd say the dealership isn't worthy of a 1-star review.
