on1. After receiving an estimate of over $14,000 for repairs on my BMW 530i, I found the estimate to be excessive. With concern about this estimate, I sought further assistance from a second repair shop. One of the initial concerns was a problem with a headlight. BMW service personnel performed a “diagnostic” test costing $198. In this process, further damage was caused to the headlight assembly. Wiring was crammed back into the housing and clips were broken that held the assembly in place. In addition, there was a scratch on the passenger side door that I do not think was there when I arrived at the BMW dealer.
