Advantage BMW Midtown
Dealership Sales Review
I visited this dealership in 2019 and the sales guy clearly knew nothing about BMWs. When I told him I would not buy a car from him and I wanted to leave he refused to give me back my car keys without (they had my keys to do a trade in valuation). Against my better judgement I went back 2 days ago because they had what I was looking for (X4). Sales guy was nice enough although he didn't serve much purpose - offered no insight on the two cars I was looking at whatsoever. I was on a strict time schedule and told him as much and I was assured everything could be finished in time. I sat waiting in the financial area for about 15-20 minutes before a lady came out and said they had a new program where they do everything virtually. She said she would set up the call and come back and get me. She disappeared for another 20 minutes. No one told me what was going on until I threatened to walk out and not come back. Turns out it was "technical difficulties" with a Zoom call. Sorry, but not every position is suitable for remote work - particularly customer facing ones. The whole experience (once they got it working) was a disaster of screens not sharing and touch screens not working, and lack of visibility of the documents I was being asked to sign. When it was all said and done I was late picking up my daughter (the reason I had a strict time schedule) and they didn't even provide a copy of anything I had just signed. When I told the sales guy I shouldn't have to ask for a copy of the documents he said "yeah, that's a thing here." To top it off, they said the car had remote start - turns out that's an additional $330. This was my 4th time buying a BMW and by far the worst experience I have ever had. I will never go there again.
