onI brought my first new truck in 1983, a Chevy Stepside, i put duct tape, super glue and bubble gum on it to keep it running as long as i could almost 20 years. Wasted so much money on it, never again taking it to fly by night places.
Bought another truck new, October of 2001, it's a Z71 2002 at Durants in Granbury, and I have 304500 miles. Still running today.
Some minor body issues, but I usually bring in to be serviced at Vandergriffs only as it's close to home. And they provide me with a loaner as they can't always get to mine right away. It took them 4 days from Monday until Thursday just for the rear breaks this time. They did lower the initial price down almost $200.
I am currently looking to get a new truck as I need another pair of tennis shoes. I don't want to keep putting money into this one. The Service guys are "extra special", Scott, Josh, Brandon and Cody. Especially Scott, great character to work with.
Someday, I will get another new truck and after I pay it off, I will buy another ASAP, as it probably be my last truck as I will be 70 and ready to retire once it's paid off.
