MINI of the Main Line
Dealership Sales Review
Absolutely horrendous experience -- from start to finish. Bottom line up front: do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this dealership! I was looking for a car for my daughter's 17th birthday. I found a CPO Mini Cooper S on their website, spoke to a salesman, and drove 90 minutes to the dealership for a test drive. The salesman was terrible, knew nothing about the car, and lied about its condition. After haggling with the sales manager and reaching a deal, I was told to return the following day at noon. Not only was the car not ready, but it hadn't been touched. I waited nearly 6 hours before I could take it home. It has now been almost 2 months and my plates still have not arrived. The temporary tag is only good for 60 days and is expiring in a few days. I contacted the dealership to ask about an extension or a new temp tag while waiting for the plates. I spoke with the sales manager (Jake) who told me he would look into it and call me back in 30 minutes. After several hours, I hadn't heard from him so I called back again. Jake was not available and I got his voicemail. I continued chasing Jake around for the rest of the day, he never called me back, and finally reached him just before 5pm. He said he was waiting for a callback but will follow up with me tomorrow morning. Sure enough, he did not follow up with me the next day. I waited until after lunch and began calling and chasing him around again. He was CLEARLY ducking my calls. After multiple calls, being left on hold for extended periods, and pleading with the receptionist for assistance, I finally got to speak with Jake. His answer was, "the ETA on the plates is 7 days, but that's just an estimate -- good luck!". My daughter is scheduled to take her driving test in 1 week, and she will not be able to use the car that I bought for her. Not only is she unable to take the test in the car she has been practicing in, but if she uses my (bigger and more difficult to drive) car she will not have a car to drive when she gets her license. I spent $22k to give my little girl a car for her birthday, and she will get to look at it parked in the driveway until the plates arrive. I am irate at the incompetence of this dealership, their apathetic approach, and lack of "service after the sale". Jake and Mini of the Mainline have taken the stance that its not their problem, even though they sent the registration/plate paperwork to NJ DMV over a month AFTER the sale. I never heard from the original salesman (Darius) after the first day -- not so much as a call to ask how the pickup went or a "congratulations" email or text. The title clerk is inept and dropped the ball on submitting paperwork. Jake is a worthless manager who made zero effort to get things resolved. If you buy a car from this dealer, you are 100% on your own after they have your money -- even if they screw up your paperwork and you end up with a car that can't be driven while helplessly waiting for plates to arrive. There are plenty of Mini dealerships -- do yourself a favor and give your business to anyone BUT Mini of the Mainline!
