Nice sales person, but shady dealership

I recently contacted this dealer about a used Subaru. I told them I was looking for an Impreza, had a maximum budget of $17k. I talked to a sales person on the phone, who told me they had a '10 Impreza with 18k miles on it, that would "fit into my price range". I wasn't too fussed for more details, because I was planning on going out and test driving cars the next day, and told them I would swing by. When I got to the dealership, not a car had a price sticker on it. I met with the salesman I had spoke with on the phone, who was very pleasant, and he took me out to show me the car he told me about. Turned out it was a '11 (okay, cool, easy mistake) with 49k miles on it (uh, that's a bit of a leap from 18k). I again inquired about the price, to which he said "he would need to check on that". I decided to take a test drive anyways, and it was a nice little car. When we returned to the dealership, I asked about the price again. I was told "Well, I would need to go talk to someone about it. And they would probably tell you higher then your price range because that's their job." At that point I thanked him for his time and left.

We apologize for making this a confusing situation. The Impreza you were looking for was in our inventory but had not yet been processed and put on our lot. When we get pre-owned vehicles we process them through a checklist before they are made available to the public. There were (and are) several other Imprezas that may meet your needs.
