Visited dealer in search of a specific model which the dealer did not have in stock. Test drove a similarly equipped model that the dealer offered to find. Having researched the desired model thoroughly, was insulted when the dealer offered to sell us a less desirable model for $4,000 over the MSRP for that vehicle because "they were in demand". Walked out and purchased the desired and "in demand" model from a different dealer for $1000 below MSRP without any hassles.

Dealer Response
As this is an anonymous comment, it is difficult to speak to what happened.
Some cars are certainly more difficult to get than others and sometimes it is simply a matter of timing.
We dont mark our cars up $4000 so I am not sure of the customers perception in this case.
Certainly we work with customers and are flexible to the end of selling a car that meets the customer needs and budget.
I wish I had more information in this instance because we very much want to come to terms with every customer and earn the business of any prospective car buyer.
Unfortunately, an anonymous response such as this doesnt give us anything concrete to speak to or a customer that we can help.
We urge anyone that has concerns to please contact our management team so we can address them and try to come to an agreeable resolution.
