Interstate Ford
Dealership Sales Review
January 2012 we went to see about a used car for our daughter. We ended up looking at the Ford Escapes and saw a 2011 we liked, brand new and decided if we could work a deal we would trade our small car in on it. Well we were told we were approved for financing but that we could not get it on the 2011 (brand new mind you) but we were approved for a 2012. So we figured why not and took the bait hook, line and sinker. We were told we were approved for an awesome interest rate from Ford Credit which surprised us as we were about a year out of some credit issues due to loss of job. We were also told that should there be any issues with the financing we would hear from them within 3 business days as it was Presidents Day when we purchased and the banks were closed. So a week goes by no call we figured we were in the clear, WRONG. They called and told us we needed to come sign new paperwork for a slightly higher interest rate with another finance company. I was not a happy camper but we went there and figured it was a done deal. Wrong again! I had to fax paperwork for proof of income, proof of address and a host of other jump thru the hoops kind of things. At which point I was asking if we could just get our car back and was told that it was already gone! It gets better though. The finance company for the car we traded in calls us about our payment being stopped and now late. I was not thrilled and stated that they should have been paid off. Come to find out that Interstate Ford had not paid off our old loan and were not happy with me for questioning their motives. By this point I am fuming and not one person wants to own responsibility for this mess. When all said and done it took us until mid March to get our refund for the overpayment on the old car because I made my payment to ensure we had no credit issues and then waited for Interstate Ford to get their job done which took a few more phone calls and contacting the attorney generals office. Uncalled for business practices and I feel as if we were taken advantage of in ways I cannot even begin to imagine. Utterly disgusted in their actions and disrespectful attitude in managing this fiasco they created. As a result of this we will not take our vehicle to be serviced there. Never mind the fact the Ford Escape is not of the quality and standard we expect from Ford and are not happy with this vehicle and plan to trade it out as soon as possible. There are others who have faced this same financing issue and I would caution anyone buying from this dealership to think twice if financing through them.
