Falsely certifying vehicles! [violative content deleted]
Written by djw5 on 07/14/2009

My husband and I recently purchased a GM Certified 2004 Chevy Malibu from Buck Chevrolet in Canal Fulton. They are a bunch of [violative content deleted]! When it came time to sign the papers they brought in a smooth talking guy that introduced himself as "Jeff, the paper work guy." They added extra charges (GAP insurance) to our financing, and when we questioned them about it "the paper work" of the dealership told us, "I don't know what that is, I didn't work your finances." We later found out that our "paper work guy" is the general manager of the store! We were also told that banks no longer allow monthly payments; they require bi-weekly payments. We told them we did not want bi-weekly payments, and we were told "too bad". After getting home and looking over the paperwork more in depth, it was an equity group that they made money off of that made the bi weekly payments! My husband contacted the bank and was told that they do not require the extra charges or bi weekly payments!! Upon contacting the dealership we were once again told, "Too bad papers are already signed." We also did not receive copies of all of the papers that we signed. When we asked for them we were told that we had received all of the copies that the customer needed. The day after buying the car, our air conditioner condenser went out! It has been making a whirring noise at the dealership, in which our salesman (Nick Huff) told me it was the motoring vibrating. Now I didn't think I looked that stupid. I shut off the A/C and it stopped whirring. They charged the A/C at the dealership which was a temporary fix to deal with us until the car was sold. They my husband found a broken pulley on the tensioner unit. The dimmer switch fell out of the dash board on the way home from the dealership. It was broken and had been glued in!! Our key less entry didn't work properly. And we just found out that the power mirror switch that was missing when we bought the car, and were told would be covered under our extra warranty, is not covered under our warranty but should have been done under the GM certification!! After obtaining a copy of the GM Certification check list, there were six items on that list that should have been fixed according to GM Certification standards. They are falsely certifying vehicles! When contacting the dealership I am told," We'll get back to you." They finally did get back to me after another dealership had already replaced the mirror switch. I told them they needed to refund me and they refused. There was also no owner's manual provided with the car. This has prevented me from being able to properly install my one year olds car seat. The owner's manual is also required by GM Certification. They refuse to provide one saying that it was included when the car was purchased. If I had one, I wouldn't be asking for one. They are a bunch of [violative content deleted]!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!

I recently bought a car from Buck Chevrolet and I had no such experience. It was a very forthright and honest experience... The only difference i can see between my experience and yours would be I researched my car purchase and I READ what i was signing...no surprises there. I dont know if you noticed but everything is itemized on both the contract and the sales slip..

My name is Jeff and I am the general manager of Buck Chevrolet. Now that I have introduced myself, allow me to share with you the other side of the coin. All customers are offered (in compliance with state and federal lending disclosures)options for warranties, gap, credit life and disability insurance in a menu format. These options are reviewed with every customer and the customer chooses the options that best suits them. A customer signs on the OPTIONS THEY WANT and the paperwork is printed and reviewed with the customer. As for the structure of lender repayments, a monthly and biweekly option are offered to the customers and (again) the customer makes a choice that best suits their needs. Every option is itemized and the customer signs in multiple places accepting the options they wanted. I do not know how this can be any clearer. The only regret I have is the customer didn't bring the car back here for us to resolve their issues for them rather them taking it to another dealer and assuming we would give them a "blank check" to fix whatever it is they wanted fix. We don't "charge" aircondition, we fix them as needed.
