Flow Honda
Dealership Sales Review
Because of a lot of reasons, I wanted to trade my Infiniti G37 for a Honda Pilot. I am a previous Pilot owner and wanted to get back in one to have more space. I reviewed the Edmunds' forums and prices paid on the model I wanted, so I knew what the market was for the 2011 Pilots. I submitted a Black Book request through the Flow Honda website for a value on my trade and I was called very soon afterwards. I went by at lunch and spoke with the sales manager. We did not reach a deal. Even though I do not live in Winston-Salem, I work for a company here and it will be much easier to have the maintenance done here, so I wanted to buy in the Triad area if possible. I called him back and went back after lunch. With minimal haggling, we reached a deal while sitting at his desk. I had already been approved for Honda's 0.9% financing, so the process was simple and painless. Brian, the sales manager I dealt with even said "I like it when customers have done their research and know what they're doing." The F&I guy was nice but gave me a really hard sell on the tire/wheel replacement plan and the 'gap' insurance. I politely declined both and told him I would consider an extended warranty, but not now. He pushed pretty hard to the extent I had to finally give him a firm 'no, I am not going to do that..." for him to get the idea. Overall, a very good experience and I believe if you do your homework before going in and know what similar vehicles are going for, then it will be a good experience. I think if you let them or any other dealer control the process, then you're probably in for a painful process. Information is power, so go in armed with as much information as possible and it will make the experience better.
