Town & Country Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram
Dealership Sales Review
I contacted them to purchase a vehicle over the internet. I was very explicit that I would not be able to come to the dealership to sign paperwork, that it would have to be done electronically and I would have vehicle picked up after purchase. They assured me this would not be a problem for them. The sales person I spoke with said they do it all the time, even sending vehicles overseas. So I made an appointment with them to have a professional vehicle inspection service check out the vehicle for me. This cost me $139. I got report, and generally vehicle was acceptable with a couple exceptions. When I told them that I felt their price needed to come down just a bit because of condition of vehicle, in particular the tires were worn and of relatively low quality, and other vehicles were more competitively priced, the sales manager suddenly tells me they can't do the transaction because they have a policy that the buyer must appear at the dealership in-person to sign paperwork. I was willing to consider a counter offer, and stated so but none was made. This policy restatement is a complete 180 from the assurances I received two days before. I would not have spent the money to get their vehicle inspected if not for those assurances. Now I am out $139. I emailed them stating these facts and told them they had a duty to either abide by the assurances made by their sales department, or reimburse me for the inspection that would not have taken place if they did not agree in-advance to handling the transaction over the internet. I got no response whatsoever to that communication. So, if you deal with these guys, make sure everything is in writing before doing any deal with them because in my experience they don't keep their word. I am buying a vehicle from another dealer, over the internet, not a problem. I suggest you buy one somewhere else too.
