silverado problems
Written by thisisstupid on 09/16/2008

i bought a brand new silverado 4X4 here, and the first week that i had it i noticed a couple of problems with the drivers side front door. the bottom of the door was defective where the skin was rolled over the door body. part of the skin was not rolled over and stuck straight down in the middle and rubbed on the top of the rocker panel. this was rubbing thru the paint. as if this wasn't bad enough, the rear of the door sagged, and was close to contacting the top front of the rear door when closing it. i notified the associate right away and brought it in for him to look at it. he told me that they would have gm replace the defective door under warranty and made an appointment for me to bring it in. when i brought it in i was then told that gm would not replace the door, and that they were going to send the truck to a body shop to have them finish rolling the bottom of the skin, adjust the hinges, repaint the bottom of the door, and repaint the entire rocker panel. i was not happy. whatever they did to the hinges made no difference at all. the paint and bodywork looked good at the time, but are not holding up. a year into owning the truck, the rear of the door started sagging so bad that it rubbed paint off of the top front of the rear door. paint is now coming off of the bottom of the door where it was repaired. i paid for a brand new truck but recieved a truck with repaired body damage and a mailfunctioning door. all this on top of the headaches associated with trying to get this all corrected. then at 40k miles the left front hub blew. gm also refused to warranty this. basil sucks, and gm sucks.
