Suntrup West County Volvo Cars
Dealership Sales Review
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Purchased a car from, Dan Suntrup at Suntrup West County Volvo. Before purchasing the vehicle, I asked if the car had been inspected by a mechanic. I was told by Dan that it had and everything was in working order. Before I had driven the car 100 miles, the check engine and VSC lights came on. I took it to my mechanic who told me that the catalytic converter may be bad, a wheel speed sensor was defective and one of the three tires was so worn that it could have caused damage to the transfer case since the three other tires being new were not rotating at the same speed as the worn tire. My mechanic even stated that no reputable mechanic would have let an all wheel drive vehicle out of his garage with mismatched tires like those. When I contacted Dan and Sam Bruen (Pre-owned Manager) they, of course, denied there were any issues with the vehicle and it was pure coincidence that all of this occurred within 100 miles after the sale. They also told me that they would do nothing to help. Basically, Dan told me that it was too bad I got stuck with a defective vehicle and a $1,265 repair bill, but it wasn't their fault. I thought the day of the prototypical used car salesman and dealership were over. I guess I was wrong. They got me, don't let them get you! Be very careful if you think you are getting a solid car from Suntrup. You probably aren't! There are too many reputable dealership in St. Louis to have to put up with this type of dishonest service. Go elsewhere.
