Dealership Service Review

I should have listened to others

Not the Krenzen of years past. Such poor customer care & service. Purchased 2011 Honda Civic. When we picked it up it hadn't been cleaned yet. Lots of dog hair in the back & garbage in the trunk. Had to return with the car for cleaning. (And window repair.) Told tires would last 2-3 years - more if using snow tires as well. Only drove car for 5 weeks in town, then had snow tires mounted. In spring, returned to Krenzen to mount previous tires, get alignment, & recommended transmission fluid changed. 1. They told us the tires were too dangerous to use. Hmm. 2. They had the car all day. Each time I check in they said no problem finishing work. We arrived at 4pm and were told the car would be ready by closing. At closing I was told no alignment was done due to time restraints. He was extremely arrogant. When I asked why the worked hadn't been finished he angered. He explained that service appointments are to discuss the servicing of the vehicle and there are no guarantees any work will be completed. In addition, he said they had many last minute drive ups. He was actually mad at us! It didn't end there. We drove the car straight to a nearby service station who agreed to finish the work. First they found one of the tires was extremely loose - we were lucky we didn't drive further. They didn't even finish balancing the tires! (Yes, they charged us.) We knew it needed the alignment. So .... we hoped all was okay. Nope. A short time later we knew something was wrong. We brought to service station and they said it was nearly out of transmission fluid! The cap wasn't put on properly. We had to pay for cleanup, belt, fluid, etc. What did Krenzen say! I called many times and was promised a return call - it didn't happen until recently. I called the saleman who helped us asking for warranty details. He insisted Scott Krenzen should hear my story. I told him I was sure it wouldn't do any good but he seemed kind and sincere. Mr Krenzen called as promised. I only told him a piece of the story when he said ... what do you expect me to do at the 11th hour? I tried to explain it wasn't my fault it was the 11th hour. I did my due dilagence and then some. I even dropped of a letter and service papers in person. He abruptly said good bye. He wasn't rude, just obtuse to the situation. We feel so defeated, sad, and disappointed. We purchased many vehicles at Krenzen including first Honda Prelude Krenzen sold. We had a close personal relationship with Bernie Bernstein. Those were the days. Our family will no longer be customers of Krenzen in Duluth. I should have listened to our friends who warned us. This month I will be driving to the twin cities for my new SUV.
