Dealership Sales Review
I went in on a Saturday to get hands on an Alfa Romeo Giulia they had in stock I have been researching. I enjoyed the drive enough to work up a deal with the salesperson. The salesperson didn't have to sell me the car at all, I knew the features it had, what I liked, etc. I didn't haggle price, I went through their preferred lender and secured a loan, and paid a deposit to hold the car while I moved things around to have a down-payment. At this point, the car should essentially be mine, all the hard stuff is taken care of, right? Nope! Less than a week into waiting on a check to arrive for me to make down payment with, the salesperson called to tell me that they're selling the car to someone else unless I show up on Tuesday to pay the down-payment/take possession. Excuse me? I paid a deposit for you to hold the car. I understand not dragging my feet and making you wait a month, but a week, week and a half to wait for a down-payment doesn't seem unreasonable to me at all. But, as I've spoken to co-workers who have also purchased from this dealership, this is apparently standard operating procedure. So, I have gotten my deposit refunded and will never visit them or any of their parent company's dealerships again.
