Academy Ford Sales
Dealership Sales Review
In May of 2022, I purchased a used 2020 Ford Transit from Academy Ford that was in a flood. This information was not disclosed prior to the sale. Approximately two weeks after purchase, the vehicle broke down and was taken to an out of state Ford dealer for service, that NJ dealer indicated the rear differential of the vehicle needed to be rebuilt and that the van was in overall poor condition. The NJ dealer shared pictures of van’s underside showing the vehicle still covered in mud, only visible when on a service lift. I was told the vehicle should not have been sold in its current condition. The van was towed back to Academy Ford and is currently “waiting for parts”. This is a service van for a small business, and it has been in the shop for half of the time we have owned it and there is no proposed return date. I believe l was taken advantage of. The vehicle sold to me was misrepresented by Academy Ford. Tom the GM has not returned any of my calls, he turns them back to Irvin, the Sales Manager, who continues to recite the company line that the ‘vehicle will be repaired under warranty and there is nothing else they can do at this time, the van is mine and they will not take it back or renegotiate the sale price.’
