Ourisman Honda of Laurel
Dealership Sales Review
I requested an email quote on a 2008 Honda Odyssey from Ourisman Honda of Laurel through Edmunds.com. I received an email quote from Ourisman Internet specialist Ryan Dunn that had a few different charges and discounts listed. At the end of all these, it displayed an out the door price of $28,806 for the model with my requested specs. I responded to the email saying I was confused by some of the info in the previous email and that I wanted confirmation that $28,806 was indeed an out the door price for the model I was looking for. Mr. Dunn responded that it was the out the door price and that he had the model and the color that we wanted. I then sent another email asking how trade in values were determined. Mr Dunn replied that Ourisman was very competitive in this area and right in line with Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book pricing. Ryan Dunn was not working the day that I went to the dealership but he had arranged for another sales rep and a sales manager to be ready for me to discuss financing and to put a value to my trade in. These gentlemen informed me that Mr. Dunn had made math mistakes on my quote. The actual out the door price was $30,867. I told them there must be some mistake because I had questioned the price when it was given to me and Mr. dunn had confirmed it. They also gave my trade-in a value more than $2000 less than either Edmonds or Kellys Blue book gave it in fair condition with similar mileage. So now I was being offered a deal over than $4,000 higher than I had been led to believe it would be. Did they mislead me to get me to the dealership or are they just that clueless? My experience is that no one will write down a price to anything without a managers approval, so I suspect that it was some kind of bait and switch from the beginning. Dont despair, I WAS promised 5 free tanks of gas. It should have been 5 tanker trucks full of gas to make up for the time that I wasted with this dealership. Ourisman Honda of Laurel is the kind of dealership that makes people dread buying a car! If you do choose to request a quote from these guys, get the name of the sales manager that approved the price with the stock # of the vehicle that it applies and plan on selling your trade-in yourself.
