Antwerpen Nissan
Dealership Sales Review
I purchased a loaded ($42K) new 2008 Pathfinder from this dealer. From the very first day the car had a significant oil leak, that I didn't notice until I got it home, since it didn't begin leaking until the engine had warmed up. The service department was very nice about getting it in right away, and then tried unsuccessfully 3 times to fix it. Finally, on the 4th attempt, they found a damaged portion of the engine block (cylinder head) that needed to be replaced. Fortunately, the car was still under warranty, b/c the repair would have cost me over $4K. My gorgeous, new car was literally in hundreds of pieces on their garage floor for 3 weeks. I felt that the car should be replaced, since it was purchased as a new car and it was no longer in factory-new condition, however Maryland Lemon Law is very strict, so it was not "technically" a Lemon. I contacted Nissan USA, who completely jerked me around for several months before telling me that they would do nothing at all for me, not even extend the warranty. My gripe with the sales dept. of this dealership is that I felt that they should have talked with Nissan USA on my behalf to try to remedy the situation, and get me into a replacement car, or at the least extend the warranty. The only thing Mike Antwerpen was willing to do, after many frustrated phone calls and visits to the dealer, was to offer me a replacement of the same car, for an additional $3K. Gee, thanks. I'm obviously not stupid enough to give those people another dime. It's sad, b/c I was a loyal Nissan customer, having driven nothing but Nissan cars since I was 16, but they've lost my business forever.
