Great Buying Experience

Just a quick note about my recent experience at Infiniti of Lisle. I performed a fair amount of web research with various dealers (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Infiniti) - Infiniti of Lisle provided the most rapid (human) response to my web inquiries. Offering chat, internet pricing, blue book values on a trade in, and finance/lease options. They were on top of it. They also had the greatest selection on-line. I did my research in-advance of my visit (to this, and all, dealerships). And after visiting BMW, Audi, Mercedes dealerships, and test driving their vehicles, I completed by buying experience at Infiniti. I scheduled an appointment, and was assigned Scott Rehfeldt. But when I walked in the door, the fellow who had responded to my internet inquiry, was actually on the floor - his 'job' is/was managing their web-presence - Nice to know he wasn't some faceless/nameless person - a real guy who knew I was coming into the store. What impressed me the most (overall), was that Scott, Randy (the fellow who ultimately showed us how to operate the car) and Terry (Finance), were all veterans of the industry (Scott - 11 years; Randy - 12 years; Terry - 12 years), but all at the same dealership. It was also not lost on me that they each had various 'Employee of the Month/Year' certificates attached to their cubicle/office walls. I liked talking to guys who had worked for the same dealership for many years - but at the same time, they were not 'jaded' or assuming -- It was a good experience - I felt like they were actually interested in talking to someone who was trying to figure-out 'which' car to buy. Every salesperson must know and believe in their product - but these fellows knew my experience, knew what I had learned on the web/competitive information, and actually appreciated my perspective. Perhaps the best 'buying' confirmation came from Randy -- after he had done a brief features, 'send-you-on-your-way' overview (it was late, we were in a rush to a family gathering), he said "guys, please come back tomorrow, I really, really understand your buying experience, and I want you to know this is an exceptional vehicle/value, and I think you are making a great choice, and I want to make sure you understand everything" - and I actually believed Randy was speaking sincerely. So,,,, speaking to the 'sales experience' - I have to give these fellows great marks - they were exceptionally attentive, well-informed, have great follow-through. Even Terry - the Finance guy who is implored to sell clear-coat protection, extended warranty, etc. - He implored me to buy it, offered examples of why it is important, but it was a conversation - not a freaky-moment with the money-guy about how I have to spend even more money. My advice on car buying -- do your research - know what really makes sense to you re: features/price. But in the end you will be faced with a 'buying experience' that leaves you feeling like 'you' were forced to make a decision, or the decision was a natural conclusion of a process. The personnel at Infiniti of Lisle did not 'make me' buy an automobile -- they just helped me to conclude a process - they were the 'tipping point' to making a difficult decision with lots of options - they knew the facts, they were forthright and honest in their assessment of my considerations. But most importantly, they were veterans of their dealership and their product. And considering 12, 24, 36+ months from now, it's one small thing that you can believe in -- that they collectively have worked for this same dealership for 10+ years each. Best to all of you in your decisions --
