Car had a nice visit, but wasn't repaired

onMy Expedition had a rattle/creaking around the right door. Brought it in on Monday 1/17. Service advisor called me on Tuesday asking for more information, which I provided. On Thursday, 1/20, I was told the technician could not find what was making noise. I picked up the Expedition. When I got in the car the radio was tuned to FM, a talk radio station I don't listen to and the volume was loud. Maybe, that is why the technician could not hear the noise. I wasn't given the opportunity to take a technician on a drive to point out the noise. I hear it every time I drive the vehicle. Why can't they?
