Working for the insurance company and not customers!
Written by 08/11/2015
onI went in for a insurance quote and I felt like the Body Shop Manager Mario "Body Shop Manager" was working for the insurance company. He automacally assumed that my car was not related to accident mechanically and had it taken to his shop. I drove the car before the accident and after and I notice a difference in the way it was driving. He didn't! Then he charged me 115 bucks to look at it to tell me it was not related. WOW. To look at car and charge you $115 bucks. What a rip off body shop/dealership. Do not use this place and I just bought a Buick but I wont be back to get my service there for fear of being ripped off! He should be terminated!

Dealer Response
Mr. McNabb, Mario Triana and I have reviewed your concern and find the following: Your vehicle concerns were written on a bona-fide repair order when it was presented to us on 8/4/15 with complaints that you felt were related to a recent accident. At the time of write up, Mr. Triana explained to you that Mercury Insurance Company requires that the concerns be diagnosed in the Service Shop since they are related to driving the vehicle, not cosmetic repairs. We advised you that a diagnostic fee applies for inspection of your concerns that would be charged to you ONLY in the event that Mercury Insurance denied coverage as an unrelated claim and you accepted that fee as evidenced by your signature on the repair order, which is a binding contract, and request for a written estimate. Incidentally, a diagnostic fee is charged by all dealerships and private facilities whenever an in-depth inspection, such as this was, is completed and is no different than any service fee charged by all businesses, automotive or otherwise. The fee covers shop overhead, paying a Technician for the time they spent on diagnosis, etc. Our fee of $115 is directly in-line with all of the major dealerships and repair facilities in this market. Depending on the repair facility, the fee is usually put towards the repair (as it is here) once approved by the customer. Mercury Insurance denied coverage on your claim stating the failures are unrelated to the accident and refused payment of the diagnostic fee you approved prior to inspection; therefore the fee was charged to you per your approval upon receipt of your vehicle. Your concern does not lie with Garber Buick GMC or its employees which provided a service to you and charged a fair fee; rather, your concern lies with Mercury Insurance which denied your claim. If you would like further resolution regarding your repair concerns, please contact Mercury Insurance to see if they will approve the repairs.
Mike Mantovi, Service Manager.
