AutoNation Chrysler Jeep West
Dealership Service Review
I dropped off my jeep for oil service and check for vibration at the brake pedal and steering wheel. Service Advisor Ryan called me and I ok'd a wheel balance and wheel alignment to correct the issue. After service was performed, I notice the vibration was still there so I decided to check the brakes and rotors myself. I have 50+ years in the automotive service industry. When I attempted to remove the wheel, I noticed the lug studs/nuts were stripped. I did not receive a call about this problem. This is something that should have been handled before giving any vehicle back to any customer. I drove back to the dealership the same day and confronted the service manager, Matt Click and showed him the lug nut damage. I explained to him that this would never have happened under my management and I would have replaced the parts at the store's cost. This is my wife's car and if she would have gotten a flat, she would have never been able to change the tire. And she does know how to change a tire. Matt told me he would replace the lug studs and check the brakes. He offered a discount on the brake repairs. I made an appointment the following day for front brakes and rotors. My point in all this is that the brakes should have been looked at when the first service was done and I should have been told that oops we stripped the lug studs/nuts. The technician working on my car should have told the service advisor what he did so he could have told the customer, me. $1100 later, I have new brakes on the front and rear. This is a lesson to be learned, the customers, the service advisors and management.
