A fumble at every turn

Wow I don’t even know where to start. What should have been one of the easiest and painless transactions to well qualified buyer was anything but easy. I found this vehicle on an internet search after looking for a few weeks. I knew what I wanted and given the current market for availability of vehicles it was a fair deal. I was still hoping to be able to negotiate something. I was told NO from the get go from Carly my sales person repeatedly. NO we don’t negotiate our pricing. That’s an @autonation policy. No we can’t reduce our exorbitant $699 “dealer handling fee” another @autonation policy. No you can’t use your credit union to finance your vehicle, you have to use our lender and pay 6% more in interest than you are already pre-qualified for. We are going to pull your credit multiple times to eventually get an approval with a bank that will approve the loan amount that exceeds the value of the vehicle we are selling you. I then tried to add my trade in that their website said was valued at $53k to which they offered $45k. That’s just an estimate they said. I ended up selling my trade in for $61K locally. When we agreed on terms it took them almost a week to get me actual docs to sign that they requested I sign at a local Auto Nation dealership. The docs were missing pages so 3 more days of FedEx packages back and fourth. I had a 10 day out of the country trip planned for the following week so by the time they finally released the vehicle to the shipper I was out of the country and wouldn’t see the vehicle for almost 3 weeks after our first negotiations. I had to arrange for my neighbor to accept delivery and it sat in my garage until my return. So when I finally got to see the vehicle it had been delivered filthy out side and dirty inside with dog hair stuck to the carpet and with only a 1/4 tank of fuel. It also didn’t even have a temp registration tag so I could drive it. When I text Carly to ask about the status of my registration this was her response “ We are corporate, with over 320 dealerships. That type of thing is handled way above anyone I am in contact with. I would suggest calling the store and asking to speak with Hayden, our GM”. Really??!? Maybe the GM doesn’t have anything better to do than track down vehicle registrations. How about you provide good customer service and find out for me!?. I did reach out to the title dept at the dealership and no one answers those phones or returns phone calls it seems. I’ve left messages with no response. It’s been over a month and I still don’t have a copy of the paperwork I signed. I’ve asked numerous times for that from the finance dept to no avail. Maybe it’s @Autonations policy to deliver dirty vehicles with low fuel then give they buyer no paperwork or follow up with registration who knows. If you decide to do business with this dealership GOOO LUCK! Lower your expectation to near zero and hope they get your paper work right the first time since you’ll need all that luck if you have any questions or need assistance once you sign on the dotted line. So much room for improvement here. I’m surprised a dealership that’s run like this can stay in business.
