Chevy van recall plus battery problem

onCalled ahead, no appt needed, brought in fairly new van for (minor) recall notice. After waiting around, told they were lacking a part and would call me back. Two weeks later no call, I called again, brought it back, got the work done this time. At the same time reported an apparent battery problem. They checked out alternator and battery and said "all is well." Had them check battery again, it seems to have a bad cell and never fully charges, alternator runs way too long, voltage is low. "Our machine says it's fine, so GM won't replace it under warranty." Grumble, guess I'll wait and hope it fails more completely under warranty.
