I purchased a UX300h fsport only to learn the next morning from the dealer that this particular VIN (from Japan) would not allow for a hitch. Having a hitch is crucial to me since I ride an e bike. The sales tax and registration had been submitted electronically when I purchased and I was told could not be cancelled. So, for me to buy a car that met my needs I had to sell the UX back to the dealer as a used car (with 300 miles on it) and lost the taxes, reg and price reduction on the car or about $7500. I do not think it was my responsibility to know that VIN wouldn’t accept a hitch, so it became a very expensive transaction for me — the approximate $7500 loss on the UX plus the additional expense to upgrade to a replacement car.
