BMW of Carlsbad
Dealership Service Review
On December 13, 2024, I brought my BMW into your service department because the “check engine” light was on. After waiting over 3 hours, I was handed an invoice that stated: “found faults for radiator blinds. programmed control units per test plan after programming bottom radiator blind failed function test. if fault returns, replacement is needed at an estimate of $1500.” Net, I was charged $479.90 to be told that I may have a future problem. Recently (May 2025) I received a letter from BMW indicating that a lower active air flap assembly repair, replacement and/or a vehicle software update that optimizes the operation of the lower air flap may need to be performed. It’s obvious BMW has identified the lower active air flap assembly to be a problem with my make and model. My service representative told me they would not repair my air flap assembly because my front license plate was dented indicating driver fault. The license plate was in the same condition in December 2024 and no mention was made of air flap assembly damage. So after numerous hours waiting in your customer lounge and nearly $480 in charges, I have a faulty vehicle and a dealership unwilling to stand behind their product. I will be selecting a new auto make and model on my next purchase of a vehicle.
