Dealership Sales Review
The Sales process was perfectly normal. I visited the dealership at night, they sold me the car that night - we were there til 11:30pm. There was some wrangling over price and financing as normal. Everyone was polite, friendly and attentive. 3 days later the car malfunctioned. It was brand new. 169 miles. The dealership got a loaner out to me immediately on a Sunday evening. The dealership arranged for towing the next day (Nissan Roadside Assistance didn't even have my paperwork yet), but it was a holiday week and so working on repairs was delayed by that. They diagnosed the problem quickly, but by then I was leery of that particular car and told my initial salesman my concerns. Senior management listened and the next day they offered to replace the vehicle. I did not have to be aggressive about my concerns or needs at all (though I was taking comprehensive notes on everything that was happening just in case I needed to build a legal case). They did not have a replacement vehicle that had exactly the same options, so for a significant discount, they upgraded my car and gave me an extended worry free maintenance package for no extra charge. Through the entire process the dealership remained professional and polite and concerned about my needs. They clearly know the value of good vs bad publicity and they made the right decisions all along the way.
