Dealership Service Review

3 out of 5 starsservice Rating
Service was difficult at best.

Brought our 2006 Cayenne in for service for an oil change, headlamp repair and a couple of other minor things. The service facility is impressive (on-site gym, complimentary drinks, breakfast, etc.) but don't let that fool you. First, the service facility is down the road from the dealership. Second, there is no drop box for keys - you either abide by there schedule or you're out of luck. This really bothers me as my colleagues at work have no problem dropping their kids Honda Civics off for service the night before! Moving on, the service rep was very nice and quickly wrote up the repair agreement and arranged for a loaner car which was a Chevy Tahoe or Denali through Enterprise. No issues - everything went well. I returned that evening to get the Cayenne. Car was clean, ready to go. Well, on my way home, the headlamp didn't work. Same issue. Warning light appeared on the dash and we were back at step one. After I got home, I realized the dealer had not given me credit for the $50 coupon I had presented when I dropped the car off. I called the service rep the next morning with my complaints. I was told to bring the car back immediately, which I did. Of course, he didn't recall the coupon but said they had mailed them to all their customer recently so he would give me the credit - what a nice favor he did for me. Hey, every penny counts when oil changes average $400. For the sake of argument, what if I was short by $50 - they wouldn't give me the car back, right! At this second visit they again offered me a loaner car. As I went outside to get it - I realized they were giving me a SmartCar. What?! I'm 6'4" and there was snow on the ground from a storm the night before. I told the guy to bring the Cayenne back - I wasn't driving anywhere in the SmartCar. Well, after arguing, they gave me a Chevy Impala, which was much better, relatively speaking. Two days later - and with another bill, I got the Cayenne back. The light worked for a few weeks but again, stopped working. I have just let it go; I'm not going back there. Thank God a close friend of mine can service the car so I'm fortunate in that I don't have to deal with these people. It's too bad really....
