Good experience buying from Frank Leta Honda

onI had a fine experience buying a new Honda Fit at Frank Leta Honda.
I used Edmunds to request quotes from the 5 Honda dealers near me.
Joe Holiway, Frank Leta's Internet sales rep, responded right away & followed up with other emails and phone calls as appropriate.
He didn't harrass me - just gave me the info I wanted and followed up to make sure I received it and see if I had questions.
Of course the other dealers all responded right away, and 4 of 5 bid the invoice price - which is typical for Internet sales.
I guess they make their money on the trade in, and on walk in customers.
For some reason, the 5th dealer bid $150 over the invoice price - never a smart move.
Anyway, I happened to visit Frank Leta first; Joe had the trade in checked out; gave me a general lowish offer (which is typical); explained that if I would just let him know what we want for it, then he would see if they could sell it for that (they supposedly sell to a third party lot).
Of course I wanted him to give me a hard offer, but my wife finally convinced me to just tell him what we wanted.
So I did, we got the amount, and closed the deal.
The Honda Fit is a high school graduation present for our daughter, so that she will have a reliable car for college.
Joe had a sign and ribbon put on it to surprise her when we picked it up.
He was very nice through the entire process, even when I didn't want to 'deal' during the trade in negotiations.
He was just matter of fact - they will give a rough offer that we can shop around, knowing that we probably won't make it back there, or we can tell them what we want for the trade in & they will try to meet it.
Gus, the finance guy, was also easygoing.
He just went through the extended warranty options & tried to get a sale, which they are required to do, but accepted our responses without any excess hard sell.
Definitely recommend going the Internet sales bid route, and meet the dealer with a firm price in mind for any trade in.
If you go with Joe Holiway and Frank Leta Honda, you should have a good experience.
