Dealership Sales Review
Called about an '08 Town and Country I saw on the internet for my mother, Talked to a salesman who was helpful and said I would call back. When I did to let him know I would be coming in another person talked to me since the original salesman was busy. Wasn't the freindliest but I decided the price was right so I went in to see the van anyway. When I got there I told them I had talked to a salesman this morning and gave them his name, after a minute that salesman came back and said the one I talked to was busy but he showed me the vehicle. It was dirty with stains on the inside and a large scatch on the side. Beside it was another van in much better condition but listed a $1000 higher, I said it may be worth that because of the condition and would the price be firm, he stated well you never know and then basiclly walked away because the original salesman I talked to had shown up. He was very nice and insisted that if interested I needed to take it for a test drive, which I did. I informed him I was looking for my mother who had a limited amount she could spend so we went back and I made an offer of $500 less than asking, he returned with a counter offer of $110 off the listing price and I said I couldn't go anymore than my original offer because I would need to talk to my mother. At that time I was leaving and he said well let me introduce you to the sales manager. The sales manager never stood up from his computer simply looked over his shoulder and said that was the best he would do because he wasn't going to lose money. I said I understood that but I could only offer so much at which time he said well then buy the other one. I told him I wouldn't buy the other one because of it's shape, he said well you get what you pay for. I left and contacted my mother who said to go ahead and meet their price because she was without a car and the price was okay with her. So we contacted the salesman who held it for us until we could come in the next day. The others filling out the paper work were very busniness like and things went smooth until after we signed everything. The salesman handed us the keys and we asked if there was a second set he said no there was only one. I asked can we get another set made and he said let's go back to the service department. There thay told us they would make another set but they were ion backorder and it could be a week to a month to get them in and it would cost over $150. He did say he had another key he could make that would start the car without the remote lock on it he could make for $75 and then he would have to program it which would cost another $40. You would think that after spending several thousands of dollars there they would at least have given a price break on the keys. Also as we were driving away we noticed the gas light was on and we had to stop and get gas at the first station we came too. We did get another key from a local lock smith who charged $75 but programed it free. Over all price was right, salesman was nice but sales manager and service department not worth the hassle. If not for the fact that my mother needed a car immediately because hers was totaled in a storm we would not have done business with this dealer and will never do business with them again.
