Low quality
John, 07/13/2024
2023 Chevrolet Malibu 2LT 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
Bought a 2023 Chevy Malibu 2LT brand new. Thought it would be better quality since it is a 2LT. Had it for about 2 months before issues started. First issue was front bumper panel corners popped out. Had it in the garage a couple times. Being told there is no fix, just push it back in. Squeaky driver seat and gas peddle. Air box sounds like a goose when the louvers adjust. Had the … air box replaced. Sound came back within 2 months. I will not buy another chevy that was made prior to 2020. Seems like the quality went down hill. Of course chevy will take it in on trade at the value it is worth. Unfortunately, this leaves the customer a couple thousand dollars upside down in the deal.
FAQ
How does the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu compare to similar models/competitors?
- The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu fares poorly against most of its rivals. The Honda Accord is bigger and more efficient with a standard hybrid powertrain, more rear legroom, and superior safety features. The Hyundai Sonata and Kia K5 offer more distinctive styling and superior technology. The Nissan Altima is slightly more powerful and offers an available all-wheel drive option. The Toyota Camry provides superior value with available AWD and hybrid powertrains not available on the Malibu. The Subaru Legacy includes standard all-wheel drive. While the Malibu offers a roomy interior, smooth ride, and lower price, competitors are significantly better equipped across the board.
How fast is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?
- The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu is not quick. It produces 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque from a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT transmission. Edmunds describes the acceleration as lackluster, and owners report the engine is very underpowered, requiring aggressive throttle input for highway passing maneuvers.
