Depreciation Ratings


Do you wish there was an easy way to identify which vehicles best hold their value over time? Auto Lease Guide (ALG) developed Depreciation Ratings in collaboration with Edmunds.com to answer that question for consumers.

Each vehicle's expected depreciation rate was determined first by taking its initial transaction price (the Edmunds.com True Market Value®) and correlating it with ALGs forecasted value three years in the future to determine its expected depreciation rate. This depreciation rate was then compared to the depreciation rates for all other models in the same vehicle segment. Vehicles were assigned a rating from one to five stars based on that comparison.
