- Looks like the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL is getting a face-lift. Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of the face-lifted SL roadster that will hit showrooms later this year. Among the few details released along with the photo is the news that Mercedes will add two high-end variants: an SL63 AMG, with a 525-horsepower V8 making 465 pound-feet of torque, and an even more potent SL65 AMG, with its twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 pumping out 612 hp and 738 lb-ft. Mercedes said the updated sport models will feature an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed gearbox. Noticeable in the official photo is a new rear diffuser shrouding quad tailpipes, as well as new AMG alloy wheels.
