  • 2008 Escalade premature undercarriage rust

Written by: katzoo on Dec 10, 2011 7:57:23 AM

I have followed the posts and threads on the undercarriage rust issue with GM. I own 2 Cadillac escalades. I purchased Escalade brand new in 2007 and another purchased in 2008 which I traded my 2002(also bought brand new) in for the brand new 2008. Within a year the brake rotor rusted completely and peeled and warranty replaced. Again, within a year another set of rotors or rotors and brakes rusted ... Read More

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/26/rumormill-cadillac-to-get-its-own-volt/ With enormous V8 land-yachts and even bigger Escalades rolling down America's boulevards, Cadillac's doesn't have the most environmentally friendly of images. But that's a perception that the premium GM division is working hard to combat. After unveiling the Escalade two-mode hybrid, reports have begun to surface that Cadillac is considering a four-cylinder model for the American market like the Saab-based BLS it offers in Europe. New emerging reports now suggest ... Read More

We all have our favorites, our own loyalties and preferences. But in a survey of new vehicle buyers released today, only one brand can be at the top. The number one brand in the US in owner satisfaction in 2008 is Cadillac, according to AutoPacific’s annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) study. This study is based solely on the opinions of actual new vehicle owners rating their new 2008 models. AutoPacific adds ... Read More

Hi 996twint. Interestingly, the 2008 Cadillac Escalade's lease rates and residual values are currently exactly the same as the 2007 models' numbers. Take a look at my previous post to see what they are. As a result, given the additional cash incentives and dealer discounts that will be available on them at this point it will be cheaper to lease an '07 model. GM is currently providing a cash incentive of $850 on leases of this truck plus an additional $1,000 owner loyalty / conquest cash that is available to just about everyone ($1,850 total). It's right in line with GMAC's current base rate for a 39 month lease of a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. You never mentioned the selling price of the truck that you are interested in leasing though. Short answer: no. GM has decided that the CTS should be a 300C with a better interior; the SRX, STS, and DTS are slated to die at the end of the decade, and the replacement for the latter two will be a rebodied Holden sedan; the Escalade will continue to to be a gadgetologized Tahoe (to borrow a Rockyism); and the XLR will continue to be an overpriced angular body on ... In the firm’s July installment of their Retail Automotive Summary, their Aspirational Index (which judges a brand’s attractiveness to consumers) reveals that Cadillac’s rising star is beginning to falter. In the mid-Nineties, the marque rated only a 4 on a 10 point scale. With the ... Read More

Certainly the DTS is Cadillac's biggest sedan. However, the Lincoln Towncar is bigger, if bigger is important. If baddddd is important, then the Escalade is something to consider. I think for the old set, Cadillac is an icon, and the deVille (dts) is iconic. Devilles were best sellers for Cadillac from the late 50's through the 90's. CTS sales are nearly on a par with DTS now and the 2008 CTS ... Read More

The Catera, technically wasn't even a Cadillac persay. It was a cosmetically engineered car imported from Germany (Opel). It was a mediocre version of the car at best, which may have been ... It still has a ways to go before it is truly world-class. Good signs: Cadillac CTS is a quantum leap over the abyssmal Cimmaron and mediocre Catera. The 2008 CTS looks even better. I am a Caddy fan, and I agree with your assessment 95%. Yes, German cars offer advanced technology and refined ride, but are less reliable. The "bells & whistles" make German cars desirable even if reliability is below par. Lets not forget the Germans have lost some of their customer base to Lexus. The "Old and Tired" gas guzzling 5.4 V-8 was a embarrassment engine for ford to use. It has 300 hp. but feels more like 200 hp. The Navigator, does have a few features not found ... Read More
