TORRANCE, California — The revised 2014 Honda Civic Coupe will make its world debut at the 2013 SEMA Show as the automaker bypasses the more traditional auto-show circuit.

Honda said it will also announce performance enhancements for the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe Si.

No further details about changes to the Civic Coupe were provided. The single teaser image of the revised Civic Coupe shows a muscular-looking Si with a large rear spoiler.

"Details and technical changes will be announced in the coming weeks," Honda said in a statement.

The automaker said since the Civic Coupe has been an important part of the tuning culture in the U.S., it decided to turn to SEMA for the car's debut.

The 2012 Civic sedan redesign got off to a rocky start with tepid car reviews. For the 2013 model, Honda restyled the Civic's instrument panel, improved its crash structure and tweaked the front and rear ends.

Edmunds says: Honda heads to the front of the SEMA line with this critical debut.
