- The performance-minded 2014 Ford Fusion from Full-Race Motorsports gets the major horsepower upgrade, along with a 7-inch touchscreen tablet built into the dashboard.
- The 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium from DSO Eyewear features a sleek exterior treatment and a more luxurious custom interior.
The 2014 Ford Fusion from Full-Race Motorsports and the 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium from DSO Eyewear are the latest custom vehicles to be revealed by the automaker.
To pump up the 2014 Fusion SE sedan's standard 240-horsepower four-cylinder power plant to an impressive 400 hp, Full-Race Motorsports swapped the stock turbocharger for a larger one from Borg Warner, then added a cat-back exhaust and cold-air intake system.
For good measure, the Phoenix-based performance specialists further modified the Fusion with larger brakes, 21-inch wheels, lower suspension and custom grille and body panels. The interior was treated to custom leather seats by Katzkin and a 7-inch Android-based touchscreen tablet in the dash.
Meanwhile, DSO Eyewear went in a different direction with its 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium edition.
The tuxedo-black sedan with gold trim — Ford calls it "a black tie-ready Fusion with gold bling" — also features some powertrain upgrades, including a Banks Power straight-shot water-methanol injection system and an iQ Man Machine Interface. But most of the custom work on this model went into looks and luxury.
Starting with the top-of-line Fusion Titanium, DSO Eyewear layered on the special rich black paint with gold-painted accents from BASF, then added custom 21-inch wheels from Niche Road Wheels and wrapped them with Pirelli P Zero Nero tires.
The exterior modifications are completed with a performance-oriented grille treatment and a sleek 3dCarbon body kit.
Inside, the DSO Eyewear Fusion Titanium edition sports custom perforated leather seat inserts and more BASF gold accents, as well as a Rockford Fosgate audio system, packed with a 600-watt amp, front and rear full-range speakers and two 10-inch subwoofers.
Edmunds says: With these unique versions of the 2014 Fusion, Ford plants its flag even more firmly in this year's SEMA show.
