INGOLSTADT, Germany — The Audi SQ5 TDI concept is set for the 2012 Paris Auto Show, with a limited production run of just 50 vehicles to follow in the first quarter of 2013, said Audi on Friday.

"We won't be bringing the SQ5 TDI to the U.S.," wrote Andrew Lipman, an Audi of America spokesman, in response to an e-mailed query from Edmunds.

The 313-horsepower SQ5 TDI with the 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel will debut in Germany at the U.S. equivalent of $120,561. Audi says it is the first S model in the history of the company to feature a diesel engine.

The SQ5 TDI gets unique Aral Blue exterior paint, along with aluminum-look exterior mirrors, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. Four exhaust tailpipes round out the exterior's look.

The concept gets unusual woven leather seats. No word on whether they will be carried over into the production vehicle. Other cabin details include black sport seats in Nappa leather with white and black contrast stitching. The SQ5 TDI also gets a leather multifunction sports steering wheel.

Edmunds says: The production version of the Audi SQ5 TDI is earmarked strictly for Europe — which may disappoint Audi's U.S. customers.
