NEW YORK — Volvo is getting back into the U.S. wagon market with confirmation on Wednesday that the 2014 Volvo V60 sports wagon will go on sale here early next year.

Pricing and specifications will be announced at a later date, said Volvo Cars of North America in a statement.

This is Volvo's first U.S. wagon since the Volvo V70 was removed from the lineup three years ago.

The Volvo V60 R-Design was unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show. It marks the global debut of the R-Design version of the car.

The V60 gets what Volvo calls "intelligent seating." The rear seats can be folded down in three 40/20/40 segments, for flexibility.

Edmunds says: Good news for wagon fans.
