LOS ANGELES — The 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition, which is aimed at "hard-core" off-roaders, scrambled into the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Chrysler describes it as the "most capable factory-produced Jeep Wrangler ever."
It goes on sale in the spring. Pricing has not been announced.
Off-road features include new steel winch-capable bumpers with removable end caps, more ground clearance, new rock rails and BF Goodrich KM2 off-road tires.
An optional "Anniversary Red" leather interior further spices up the model.
The Anniversary Edition is available as a two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited. It is equipped with a 285-horsepower Pentastar V6 engine mated to either a standard six-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic transmission.
The special model comes standard with a Premium Sunrider soft top. Options include a black three-piece Freedom hardtop or body-color hardtop.
Edmund says: The special model is named for one of the toughest off-road trails in the world — and it appears to live up to its namesake.
