MONTVALE, New Jersey — A more potent 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507, in coupe and sedan variants, will debut at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507, which (not surprisingly) churns out 507 horsepower, will arrive in U.S. showrooms in the summer. The Edition 507 models will be sold in the U.S. in addition to the existing 451-hp C63 coupe and sedan, said Mercedes-Benz in a statement.

Pricing on the Edition 507 models will be announced closer to launch. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sedan starts at $60,705, including a $905 destination charge. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG coupe starts at $63,235, including shipping.

The German automaker said the C63 AMG Edition 507 uses "much of the same technology as the SLS AMG." That includes forged pistons on the AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine, along with connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft. The engine is linked to an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission.

Both sedan and coupe versions of the Edition 507 have a top speed of 174 mph. They sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

An AMG high-performance compound construction braking system with red brake calipers is standard.

The exterior of the Edition 507 gets a hood borrowed from the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. The Black Series model, which is not available for 2013 in the U.S., starts at $105,905, including a $905 destination charge.

Other exterior details on the Edition 507 include new AMG light-alloy forged wheels. Designo magno platinum matte finish exterior paint will be optional.

The cabin gets an AMG Performance steering wheel, Edition 507 badging and red applications to the dials to differentiate it from other C63 AMG models.

Options will include an AMG rear axle locking differential, AMG illuminated door rocker panels and AMG Performance Media.

Buyers of the Edition 507 models will also get a voucher for a driver training session at the AMG Driving Academy.

Edmunds says: A meaner and more powerful 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 is headed your way in just a few months.
