Superman's "S" shield is integrated into the seats and steering wheel. The one-of-a-kind Optima Hybrid has been widened with custom fenders, "giving the vehicle a muscular appearance," said Kia Motors America in a statement.
Of course, the hood gets Superman's chest emblem.
The special model is the sixth of eight customized Kia vehicles representing characters from the Justice League to benefit DC Entertainment's "We Can Be Heroes" giving campaign. The Superman car joins other Kia models patterned after Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.
A final vehicle will be "an amalgamation of all seven Super Heroes in one," said Kia.
The vehicles will be auctioned off eventually, with proceeds helping people affected by drought and famine in the Horn of Africa.
Edmunds says: The Superman 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid may not be faster than a speeding bullet, but it's still an effective way for the Korean automaker to stand out from the crowd in the Windy City.
