The 2013 Volkswagen GTI Wolfsburg Edition with a six-speed manual transmission starts at $25,890, including a $795 destination charge. The Wolfsburg Edition with a six-speed automatic transmission starts at $26,990, including shipping.
The 2013 Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition with the manual transmission starts at $30,490, including shipping. With a six-speed automatic, the Driver's Edition starts at $31,590, including shipping.
Both cars are available as four-door models only.
Three-hundred dollars more expensive than the base model, the 2013 Volkswagen GTI Wolfsburg Edition includes 18-inch "Laguna" wheels, a retro-themed golf ball shifter knob and red-stitched carpeted floor mats. It will go on sale in the first quarter of this year. There will be a total of 2,000 Wolfsburg Edition models built, said Volkswagen of America.
The base 2013 Volkswagen GTI Sunroof and Navigation four-door model, on which the GTI Driver's Edition is based, starts at $29,590, including shipping. The GTI Driver's Edition is $900 more expensive than the base model. It adds 18-inch aluminum-alloy Laguna wheels, a golf ball shifter knob, red-stitched carpeted floor mats and partial leather seat coverings. It arrives in the second quarter of 2013. Just 3,000 units will be sold in the U.S.
