2023 Lexus RZ 450e
Test drive one. Avoid 20" wheels. Consider getting one without the panoramic sunroof. I leased my RZ450e Premium (18" wheels, core package delete) a few weeks ago. About 695 miles traveled so far. 90% urban/suburban driving. 80-95+ summer weather. It is garaged overnight. I have used the Level 1 charger, but will upgrade to level 2 in a few days. Range: A full charge gives me a … projected 220 to 240 miles. This fluctuates with drive and AC settings. I typically drive with a custom setting that includes motors and AC in eco mode and steering in sport mode. I have been driving mostly with ac on, fan level 1-3 and stereo playing. I set regenerative braking to maximum. I am averaging 3.9 miles/kWh over the 695 miles driven. Performance: The car is quick. Reviews put it around 4.6s 0-60. I don't have the means to professionally measure it, but I can feel the immediate torque in my guts. It is more than enough for any legal driving on roads or highway. Handling: I like responsive steering. Sport mode gives me that. I think the car has a tendency towards over-steering, but I have to practice a bit more with windy roads, EV torque, and regenerative braking. The ride is smooth. Lane assist functions are there, but I turn them off. Good traction in rain. Comfort: It lives up to usual Lexus expectations. Palomino interior is sublime. Touch control screen is well-positioned for the driver. Stereo system is crisp and wonderful. Storage: Good. Just realize it is a chonky hatchback. Rear seats fold down if needed. There is a surprising amount of room for passengers, particularly leg room in the back. Quality: Time will tell, but everything about it seems true to Lexus form. It comes from Lexus Motomachi factory. 8 years 100K warranty on the motors. 10 years 150K warranty on the battery. Gripes: The hatch opens surprisingly high. Be careful in garages. Finally: The RZ450e is great, way better than many reviews would claim. Take advantage of the bad press and huge lease incentives while you can.
