Just took a 2,700 mile road trip in our new 2025 GX550 Overtrail+. This is our third Lexus vehicle along with a couple of Toyota 4Runners.
The vehicle ran well and has plenty of power. Other than that we had many disappointments with this SUV.
The car wants to tell you how to drive. Constant alerts that are annoying to say the least. Kept getting an alert that my eyes were closed … along with not sitting up straight. If another vehicle passed too close you get an alarm, pull into a parking space and you get alarms, pull into a drive through window and get alarms. Lexus has forgotten the KISS rule (keep it simple stupid).
I'm tall, with the front seat all the way back there is not any room for an adult to sit behind me. The back compartment storage area is not a level surface and the rear seats are tilted back which restricts the ability to stack equipment in an upright position. There is very limited storage up front with the door pockets, glove box and the center console. The cooler box is a complete waste of space as it will hold a very minimum amount of contents. The side view mirrrors are too small in my opinion.
After reading the various reviews and waiting six months to receive this vehicle, I must say that it does not continue the Lexus/Toyota experience that we have had with our past SUV's. Hoping that we will be capable of having the various alarms and safety features on this vehicle turned off. We did not purchase a car to be told how to drive.
