Luxurious, Young, Smooth Ride and Quiet Cabin EV

2025 Cadillac OPTIQ Sport 2 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
Just shy of 1,000 miles on the odometer on a 2025 Cadillac Optiq Sport 2 featuring the larger 21" Wheels. The only upgrades mine has are cosmetic: the wheels, black roof, paint upgrade, phantom blue interior seats (love it), all weather mats. Let's get range out of the way. I guesstimate roughly I am seeing around 250-260 miles of range. I drive about 50 miles per day 4 days a week. I … started with a 110V charger and had a Level 2 charger installed. I will charge about once per week with the Level 2 charger at home I think. I got the GM charger included in my deal but I think it should be compatible with many chargers. The Optiq does come with two cables for 110 or a dryer plug, but a charger is more convenient. When I cross-shopped with the Lyriq, the Optiq seems to have more standard features even in the base level 1 trim - including Super Cruise. Compared to the Mustang Mach-E this blows it out of the water in both autonomous driving and comfort. The Optiq espouses what I think a Cadillac should be -- quiet luxury. It turns heads but not extreme. Functionality wise there is a slight adjustment to the shifter from a traditional ICE vehicle but other than that this can be driven just like a regular SUV but with more pep. It's not going to rocket-launch you like the Lyriq might or a Tesla but it is going to give you all the power you need for passing, merging, etc. The double-insulated glass is superbly quiet. The ride comfort is AMAZING coming from a 2023 BMW X1. Seats are comfortable. I LOVE having tactile HVAC buttons versus my X1 constantly having to touch the screen to find it. So far, I highly recommend this vehicle. The Dolby Atmos sound upgrade to me is a bit on the gimmicky side. It's difficult to consistently find Atmos content even on Tidal or Amazon Music when driving, so you don't get the full benefit of the speakers. Using the Atoms to its full potential is a bit clunky for the average user. I think they should have just focused on making all the speakers function for everyday music/siriusxm use but perhaps in future updates. I have had a glitch with the Atmos sound disappearing. Will update this review down the road. This is my first EV and it has been great. If you have a way to charge at home, having an EV is a breeze. I actually road tripped this vehicle from Fort Worth to Midland TX with only one stop to charge. Easy peasy.
