Dealership Service Review
Saturday 8.12 Took my new 2023 Tacoma TRD PRO in for it's first 5k mile service. Scheduled a 8am service appointment and dropped it off the night before. Figured since it's a 8am appointment it would get done pretty quick since it's just a tire rotation and some checking. Well 1pm on Saturday comes along and no call. I say well lets just call and see where we are at. Mind you my Toyota app shows the car has not moved since the night before and there have been no lock or unlock notifications. I call and get someone who rudely answers. No name is given and they push me off to someone else who then pushes me off to the advisor who does not answer and the chain ends. I call back go through the same thing, but this time the call dead ends. I call for a 3rd time and end up leaving a message with the concierge. Maybe 15-20min goes by and I get a call back that the car is already in the shop (it is not) and they've already looked at everything and the car should be ready in about an hour. Maybe 10 min later my phone tells me the doors have been unlocked and the GPS shows that it is now in the shop. So there is lie #1. I get a call that the car is ready for pick up nothing was found and everything is perfect. Awesome great. It's now 2:15pm or so. I pick up the car and start driving home when I realize the alignment is now extremely off and pulling me HARD to the left. No alignment issues when dropped off. I turn around and take it back immediately as this is NOT safe to drive. They claim it's my tires and there must be some issues with tires. Are they trying to sell me tires on a 6 month old truck? hmm. They tell me they can rotate them back and that should fix the issue. Mind you I've spent the last 20 years working in automotive starting as a shop assistant when I was 18 to working R&D in Detroit and working corporate field service for 2 brands. I've got an idea of what they are trying here. That was lie #2. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I have to reschedule my warranty repair and my rotation issue to a week out. That's fine and I expected that. During the week I get a Toyota Survey asking me about how my service went. Well I was very honest and left the review reflecting the service they provided. Mind you they did not replace my wipers which are part of my package and they did not adjust tire pressures. Two things I had left alone since I knew they'd take care of them during the 5k service. I guess I expected too much like doing the bare minimum. Saturday 8.19 I pull up to a very stacked service line at ab out 7:52 (appointment is at 8am). I find the advisor and try to drop my car off. I'm then informed that they will no longer provide me service due to the Survey I left. "I'm sorry, but due to the survey we got back from you we can no longer provide you service". So I guess I find a new dealership to service me two brand new Toyota Trucks I just bought this year....... Sadly they did not try to even remedy the problem they just told me to leave. I never raised my voice and was always professional.
