Dealership Sales Review

1 out of 5 starssales Rating
Do not deal with this dealership very pushy and insulting
Written by igofast on 02/02/2018

I am writing this review even though I did not buy a vehicle from this dealership, but extremely aggravated in the manner how I was treated and even after I declined purchasing a car in which I was very interested in. When I located a car from Shirlie Slack Mitsubishi, I contact them to provide me a little more detail on the car I was interested and if there were any body or paint issues. Johnathan a dealer salesmen was first to provide me with pictures of the car pointing out many concerns which appeared to be in the pictures in which I was viewing. The request for these pictures took me two days after emailing twice for this info. After viewing them I asked to discuss in detail pricing on the car. The dealer rep make an offer and I will forward this to the general manager to get his approval. This took another two days after numerous texts and emails asking for this. Each time I was told the manager was not in the office. Finally I gave an ultimatum that if I did not hear back by the close of the day (this was 4 days of communicating) I was ceasing to discuss on this car and moving on. I finally got a response telling me that the price could not be agreed upon and they counter on dropping the price to a mere $300 than the listed price on the Internet. I countered saying I would accept this price, however and the time of closing any car deals this dealership has a mandatory $499 processing fee. I told the salesmen, if you drop the processing fee an sell it for the reduced $300 price I would buy the car. He then passes me off to another sales rep who tells me they cannot go any lower an that he could talk to Patty Slack one of the other co-owners and see if she would agree to this price. This time passed on to another 2 days (I was now at 6 days going back and forth on this deal). I threaten once again this is just wrong to to take this long to get a final price on the car and I was going to just walk away. Later in the evening Patty Slack calls me to first start out telling me what a wonderful dealership she runs and they offer a no-haggle pricing on all their cars, gives me this huge pitch how they have worked with government in Virginia legislation to fix a a lot of dealership issues selling cars. She then goes off how wonderful this car is and the paint issues which I have concerns on are not bad and are just light scratches. I tell her I have a video of the front and rear and there are deep gouges in the bumpers including the drivers door has chipped paint on it from open and hitting other car doors. She proceed to insult me saying these problems are not bad and the chips on the edge of the door can be covered with edge guards. I told her thee bumpers and door need to be stripped and repaired and telling me I wrong about these area needing repair. Not sure why in the world you would continue to belittle someone that is concerned about paint issues, but I told here the costs would be around $750-800 to fix, as I showed these areas to a body and paint friend to get his estimate to fix them, and adding this to final cost of ownership, driving 345 miles to get the car would add another $2000+ she shot me down saying I was wrong not even listening to the details, but because I was coming a long way she would knock off $300. I told her there is no way and said I was just going to pass and no longer interested. I thought this whole ordeal was over, until the last three days after declining on the car, I have received emails from the two salesmen at least two or more from each of them telling me to just go buy the car, and each time I responded saying I talked to Patty and she will not come down on price and to not contact me any further. For the past three days none of my request to cease responding to me has ended. Where I finally had to threaten them both to stop with reporting this to the BBB and the FCC, including their boss Patty. IT DID NOT STOP! they kept harassing me with buying the car. I finally called the dealership and contacted Patty to get her to stop her salesmen from contacting me any further. Not sure if this has ended as I have blocked the numbers they were using to end this harassment. My STRONG suggestion is take a good hard look at the other comments on this dealership and you can be a judge for yourself. I would not deal with them PERIOD! they wont negotiate on price and continue to harass you even when you tell them you are no longer buy anything. Patty claimed in conversation that they are a no haggle dealership and always strive to get customers in and out in under an hour on any car they sell. That's a pure lie when you read what I went thru and even after I declined to buy on of their car this harassment to buy continued. My suggestion: STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
