Rosenthal Landmark Honda
Dealership Sales Review
In March 2009 I was in the process of searching out a good deal on a 2009 Honda Fit Sport. I requested quotes online from several local dealerships, including Rosenthal Landmark Honda. I received a prompt reply from Prisque Domitille in Landmark's online sales dept, and after exchanging a few emails she agreed to match my desired price. Prisque also confirmed in writing through email that her manager had approved her offer on the exact model, options and color we'd discussed. I then called Prisque, who verbally reiterated that the offer was valid and had been approved by her manager. Upon arriving at the dealership, Prisque was occupied with another customer, so I was assisted by Sanjay Bhanot instead. Sanjay and I briefly reviewed the discussions I'd already had with Prisque, and then we test drove the Fit I'd selected. Afterward, we went Sanjay's desk to do the paperwork, and I was given an offer several hundred dollars higher than the one I'd been given previously. I explained that I'd already negotiated an offer with Prisque, which had supposedly already been approved by management, and gave Sanjay a printed copy of the email exchange as proof. He brought the printout to his bosses, and eventually returned with their "best offer," which was still a couple hundred above my original offer from Prisque. Sanjay said that Prisque had lied to me, because their superiors would never have agreed to such a low offer. At that point, I told Sanjay that I was not comfortable offering my business to Landmark Honda and left. I eventually purchased a vehicle elsewhere.
